Privacy is important

Privacy is important to Expos2, Inc. (“Expos2”, “we” or “us”). This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains Expos2’s web site and services and how Expos2 treats personal information when you, the user, registers for and/or attends a demo or a virtual event, hosted on the Expos2 Platform.

As a leading provider of virtual events, Expos2 complies with the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. Expos2 has certified that it adheres to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. This Privacy Policy only applies to information collected by Expos2 for the purpose of granting you attendance to a virtual event. Your information may be treated differently by the party licensing the Expos2 software ("Producer"), and this Policy does not supersede or modify the Producer’s policies. By registering or attending the virtual event you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you feel that Expos2 is not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact the Webmaster at privacy@Expos2.com.


Information Collection and Use.

We collect the following personally identifiable information about our users: name and e-mail address. We may be asked to collect additional personal information by your virtual event Producer, including but not limited to telephone number, business address, shipping address, social security number, preferred means of communication, credit card information and other information voluntarily provided. This personally identifiable information is typically provided when users register for online services, purchase products online, or participate in contests, surveys or sweepstakes. We also collect information about users regarding web pages accessed, traffic patterns and site usage.

By registering to attend a virtual event, you are agreeing to the collection of any and all data that is requested by the Producer. We, our service providers and our vendors may use any information collected by users: to operate the Service; to effect users' transactions; to provide better services, products and opportunities to users; to create and share reports about users' transactions; and for other marketing purposes.

Additional information may be collected by Expos2 and the virtual event Producer based on the personal information or content that you voluntarily upload or otherwise disclose within the virtual event, including but not limited to information disclosed in messages and chat areas, within your profile pages, or images or other content you make available (“Content”), becomes publicly available and may be viewed or used by others. In addition, if you have logged into your account with any social networking website, or other third party website (“Third Party Provider”) while attending the virtual event, any Content you provide may be available to such Third Party Providers and may be available to users of such Third Party Providers.

During the virtual event, you may have the opportunity to visit other websites provided by the Producer, Exhibitors, Presenters or other users. These websites may include but are not limited to social networking sites, Exhibitor’s websites or payment authorization websites. Expos2’s Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, any Third Parties or service providers (“Third Parties”). You should consult the respective privacy policies of such Third Parties for their opt-out information.

You may have the opportunity to purchase access to the virtual event or products within the virtual event itself. These transactions are processed by a third party such as PayPal. Expos2 does not collect or store Payment Information. Payment Information may be collected by the Producer and/or third parties to the extent necessary to carry out the transactions you request. Please refer to such parties’ privacy policies.

We may use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide you with the general and personalized features and functionality of the Expos2 Platform, including but not limited to:

  • Access to materials and content
  • Tracking and responding to your correspondence with Expos2
  • Your user name may be displayed to other virtual event attendees when you visit certain areas of the virtual event, chat, exchange virtual business cards (VCards) or send messages within the virtual event.
  • Quality control - Expos2 may use your information to improve the quality and design of the Expos2 Platform by tracking and analyzing your movements within the platform and surveying you for feedback. This information is used to provide you with a better user experience and to connect you to other virtual event users.

Correcting/Updating Personally Identifiable Information.

Within the virtual event environment, you will have access to your public and private profile. You may edit, delete and modify your personal information as needed here. If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire Expos2's services, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove the data you provided to us. This can usually be done at the member information page or by sending an e-mail to privacy@Expos2.com.


Cookies, Web Beacons and Log Files.

Cookies are pieces of information stored on your hard drive containing information about you. These pieces of information allow the Service to remember important information that will make your use of the Service more useful. Expos2 uses cookies for a variety of purposes. For instance, we use cookies to allow your automated login and to track your preferences and usage. You can choose to reject or turn off the cookies through your browser settings. If you reject or turn off the cookies, you may still use the Service. The only drawback to this is that you will be limited in some areas of the Service. For example, you will not be able to participate in any of our sweepstakes, contests or monthly drawings that we may offer.

Web Beacons are strings of code placed on a webpage in conjunction with cookies. Web beacons allow Expos2 to track the number of users that visit the virtual event and, in conjunction with cookies, identify you and personalize your experience within the virtual event. Web Beacons may also be used to collect anonymous and/or aggregate, unidentifiable information such as how many users attended the virtual event.

A log file is a record of your IP addresses and the traffic to and from the virtual event Platform. Log Files are used to analyze trends, administer the Service, track users' movements, and gather demographic information.


Security.

We use security measures, such as firewalls and Security Socket Layers (“SSL”), to safeguard the confidentiality of our users' personally identifiable information. Information we collect about our users is stored on secured servers. Your personal information can be accessed only by providing your password, unless you have opted to share your information with other users (by chatting or sharing your VCard). Data Integrity.

While Expos2 makes no warranties with regard to the accuracy, completeness of any information within a virtual event, Expos2 does take reasonable steps to ensure that data is reliable, accurate, complete and current and that personal information is relevant for the purposes for which it is to be used.


Disclosure Required by Law.

We cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use the Service for illegal activities. Therefore, we respond to subpoenas, warrants or other court orders regarding information concerning any users. We will, at our discretion, disclose information if we believe that we are required to do so by law, that such disclosure is necessary to protect us from legal liability or that we should do so to protect the integrity of the Service.


Your Consent; Notification of Changes.

By using the Service, you consent to Expos2's collection and use of the information described in this privacy policy. If we decide to change this privacy policy, we will post those changes via our homepage so our users are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify you by way of an e-mail. Please check this policy from time to time to make sure that you are aware of our latest privacy policy.


Enforcement and Dispute Resolution.

The Legal Department will be the internal mechanism for ensuring compliance with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Safe Harbor Principles. Expos2 utilizes the self-assessment approach to assure its compliance with the Safe Harbor Principles.

To ensure compliance with the Safe Harbor Principles Expos2 will conduct annual internal compliance reviews of this Privacy Policy, as part of the certification process with the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Internal Dispute Resolution Process: If a complaint is raised regarding Expos2’s Privacy Policy or use of personal information, Expos2 will investigate such claims and try to resolve any dispute. Acknowledgement of a complaint will be issued within two (2) business days of the receipt of a complaint. Expos2 will then conduct an investigation into the issue and may communicate with the complainant periodically during the course of the investigation. The complainant will be contacted upon completion of the investigation with a proposed resolution. If the complainant agrees with the resolution, Expos2 will implement the resolution. If the resolution is not agreeable to the complainant, the matter will be escalated to an officer of Expos2 for resolution.

Independent Dispute Resolution Process: If your inquiry is not satisfactorily addressed, contact the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association at www.adr.org. The American Arbitration Association will serve as a liaison with Expos2 to resolve your concerns.

This Policy may be amended from time to time, consistent with the requirements of the Safe Harbor Principles.
